A little bit about me

I’m an independent digital marketing consultant with specialist knowledge of the Asian markets.  I’ve worked in digital marketing since 2003.

In the past year I’ve been focussed on ecommerce and retail strategy and launch plans for major brands, an area which I find very interesting and fast changing.

I was previously Director of Training for Avado Learning APAC, and Director, ClickZ Learn for APAC. His roles involved helping to set up a training business for Avado and ClickZ Learn in the region, with the regional offices based out of Singapore (Avado) and Hong Kong (ClickZ).

Before this I worked at Econsultancy for six years, working across a broad range of clients in providing digital marketing training and consulting services in the UK, Europe, US and APAC. My role expanded in 2012 to develop Econsultancy’s growing presence in Asia as VP for the region. I helped to provide a mixture of training, consulting, qualifications and events services spanning north Asia (China, Japan, Korea), South East Asia and India, and more recently Australia.

Prior to this, I helped an Ecommerce start up launch in the UK as their Head of Marketing for three years, and before that looked after Play.com’s marketing (which was his first role in digital). Before that I worked as a senior account director in public relations for clients including Microsoft and CSC among others, and also worked extensively for media based clients in the 1990s.

I combine my passion for the Internet with an ongoing fascination with the cinema and various areas of film-making (writing, directing and producing), having also been involved in producing two independent feature films (budgets USD1m and USD3.5m), and written/directed a number of shorts for competitions and festivals in the past.

I also work as a creative adviser to PWR Group Thailand (via my own small UK production company) on a major British broadcast animation series due to be released in 2018.
